The Trail 55 begins at the entrance of the central massif Areeiro - Ruivo (1861 mts) - Encumeada, continuing to travel the same route of UT 100, diving in the deep of the Laurissilva* forest, enjoying all the scenic beauty of the northern coast . Also ends in the picturesque village of Porto Moniz.
This race demand's some specific preparation of the mountain! medium-high dificulty.

* The Madeira Laurissilva ascended to the quality of World Natural Heritage by UNESCO in December 1999 and is also one of the seven natural wonders of Portugal, the winner in the category 'Forests and hills'.
